For off-roaders there is no maker like Jeep. The manufacturer makes some of the most respected SUV vehicles on the market. For the Cherokee, its reputation stems from over a decade ago, when the model bowed out of the U.S. market and was replaced by the Liberty.

But the Cherokee has made its triumphant return to Jeep dealers in New Jersey and across the U.S. The Automobile Journalist Association of Canada deemed the Cherokee the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year. At the 20th Annual Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA), the Cherokee was named 2014 Northwest Outdoor Activity Vehicle of the Year. The SUV is reception has been nothing short of phenomenal.

What is  new in Jeep Cherokee?

Designed for the everyday man but built for the  explorer, the new Jeep Cherokee has more of a car-like exterior. While it is a  bit different from the traditional look, it has been updated to fit a more  urban aesthetic without compromising the ability of the vehicle to perform on  off-road terrain.

There are now three different 4-wheel drive systems,  including:

Jeep Active Drive 1: This is a single powered  transfer unit (PTU) which is fully automatic in its operation. It also has the  ability to go in and out of 4-wheel drive as necessary, without the need for  driver intervention.

Jeep Active Drive 2: Two speed powered transfer unit  (PTU) that comes with a dedicated low range. Vehicles that come with Jeep  Active Drive 2 will boast an extra inch of elevated ride height.

Jeep Active Drive Lock (Locking Rear Drift): This is  made for serious off-roading as it comes with everything that Jeep Active Drive  2 has to offer and ups the ante with a locking rear differential.

The Jeep  Cherokee is also available with Front Wheel Drive.

There are four models of which the Jeep Cherokee is  available in, all of which are available via your local Butler Jeep dealership.
