 The 2016 Chrysler 200 is a standout entry in its class, offering unparalleled safety and power from its base V6 engine. The new, updated Fusion, on the other hand, works hard to maintain its reputation for melding great looks, fuel efficiency, comfort, and performance all in one. It offers a high-end turbo four-cylinder engine, agile handling, and the efficiency one expects from a hybrid vehicle. However, the price is high, and it suffers from a notable lack of safety features at the base level without a standard rearview camera.

2016 Chrysler 200

 After undergoing a complete overhaul last year, the 2016 Chrysler 200 has received minor updates this year, mostly tweaks to make an already-incredible car even better. Among the updates are a few new color schemes, some additional features, and improvements to the interior cabin. It continues to be comfortable and appealing for drivers looking for a reliable everyday vehicle or those looking for a luxury sedan. 

The new front-end styling gives it a fresh look that belies the minor upgrades throughout the vehicle. There's lots of room in the front seats for the driver and passenger and strong performance with either the base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine or the upgrade to a 295-horsepower V6. 

Technology offerings include keyless entry, LED interior lighting, auxiliary input, USB, and Bluetooth. Options include remote start, heated mirrors and steering, satellite radio, and upgrades audio. Supreme features include high-end Uconnect infotainment with Siri Eyes Free and call/text blocking.

2016 Ford Fusion

Like the Chrysler 200, the Fusion has received mostly minor upgrades this year after a recent major overhaul. It continues to focus on efficiency and economy while providing comfort and performance. The elephant in the room is mileage-the Fusion certainly smokes many other cars in its class when it comes to this area, but it's a hybrid and that comes with its own set of concerns, including expensive battery replacements and a shorter lifespan. 

It can't come close to the performance the 200 puts out and doesn't have a base rearview camera, an important safety feature that's almost expected these days. In the end, if economy in driving is your guiding light, the Fusion will offer what you need. However, it carries a much higher price tag in general and can't match the luxury, safety, and technology features of the 2016 Chrysler 200.
